Hi, I’m Danette. My husband and I have four kids. As of when I’m writing this, three of them are teenagers, and one is just barely out of her teens.

If it weren’t for them, I would not have even thought of creating this website!

For kids who love Jesus Christ, there are so many things to work through during the teen years.

Like realizing that you’re not necessarily going to be popular with other teens (even other “Christian” teens). That hurts. But there is a solution. The solution is sometimes a hard path to follow, but it’s worth it.

Or wanting to do the right thing, but not finding a lot of good examples of whatever the right thing is. I find that my kids and I spend a lot of time talking through things, to figure out perspective and priorities. Again, what’s popular is usually not going to lead to the best perspective. But surrendering to Jesus will help us stay on the right path.

Now here’s what I don’t want you to think:

I don’t want you to think that I think that we have it all together and “Here we are. Look at us.” No way. Not in the least. We have so many problems, sometimes it makes me want to pull my hair out.

But through all the problems, we know that our only hope, our only joy, our only purpose and meaning in life are in Jesus Christ.

In that real-life, day-to-day-living, there is joy in the midst of tears, tears in the midst of joy. Somehow I want to record things that we are learning, to help my own kids in processing it, and to help us remember what God is doing. And hopefully along the way, it will help other teens following Christ as well.

Overall, joy in Jesus is the key theme of this website, whether it is popular or not.
